A web page that looks great to the human eye can be totally meaningless to search engines. For example, search engines cannot read the text on the images of your web site, and many don’t understand web languages such as JavaScript or CSS.

If you have a great looking web site that is meaningless to search engines, you won’t be able to achieve high search engine rankings with that web site – no matter how good and interesting your web site content is.

In general, search engines cannot see content that is presented in the following file formats:

images (GIF, JPEG, PNG, etc.)

Flash movies, flash banners, etc.

JavaScript and other script languages

other multimedia file formats

Some search engines can index some of these file formats but in general, it’s very difficult to obtain high search engine rankings if your main web site content is presented only in these formats.

Search engines need text to index your web site. They cannot know what’s written on your GIF or JPEG images or in your Flash movies. If you use a lot of images on your web site, you should also create some web pages that contain a lot of text.

If you want to find out how search engines see your web site, you have to use a search engine spider simulator tool. A search engine spider simulator tool emulates the software programs search engines use to index your web site. They show you what elements of your web site are visible to search engines.

Article services and search engine SEO can be used together to provide a powerful means of attracting a high volume of traffic to your website – if you know how to do it.

It is not possible to provide a course in SEO or in article marketing or writing in an article such as this, but you can get the rudiments from appropriate web pages on the internet that are interested in showing you how. Initially, however, here are a few tips on how to make a start in combining these two powerful facets of internet marketing to your advantage. To make it work you have to get up and do it, and not expect it to come to you.

Achieve Nothing by Doing Nothing

My father used to say to me that nothing will ever be achieved by doing nothing but thinking about it. He said that when he was fighting on the destroyers in the Russian convoys protecting the merchant ships attempting to maintain supplies to the Russians in Archangel in 1942 it would have been easier to do nothing, but a job had to be done and they all did it by knuckling down and getting on with it, no matter what it cost.

Compared to that I find spending a few hours on a website simple and trouble free, and I have never forgotten the lesson he taught me. I work the hours I need to complete a task: the clock does not exist. The failures in internet marketing are those that give up too early. If you haven’t finished your day’s work by midnight, then stay up till you have finished – whether it is 2 am or later. OK, you might have the day job in the morning but nobody said it was easy, unless you believed the guys who offered you to get rich quick.

My dad didn’t help supply the Russians by bunking down at midnight. You won’t make a success of your new internet business by doing the same. That’s the reality of it. However, if you do knuckle down, and if you

do apply the effort, then you will succeed since all it takes is the hard work then the rest will happen if you do as you are advised. Do what the winners do and you will join them.

Get Writing: Or Get Me Writing

If you can write then start writing. Write at least two articles a week on the subject of your website. More if possible. If you can write 50 then do that, but you will get success with just two. I have proved that to myself. If you can’t write, get a ghost writer. If you can’t afford a ghost writer contact me and I will help you if I have the spare time of the 24 hours I have each day.

You must also have more than one website, so get yourself two at least. The more the better, but two will do to start with. If you can’t afford two web hosts, then get one that allows unlimited subdomains and you can have as many independent websites as you want. eMail me for info on parked subdomains if you don’t know how to use them.

Optimize each page on each website as well as you can, and link one to the other. The topics or niches should be complementary, so that one is relevant to the other. Optimize the links between the pages on each of your sites to maximize your internal Google PageRank, and design the sites logically. If you use classic search engine SEO techniques, and tie them up with good internal and external linking strategies, you should soon start to see your traffic steadily increasing.

Build Up Your Website

There are several offsite actions you can take to improve the chances of your web pages appearing high in the Google listings for the keywords each page is optimized on. You should have at least 10 pages on each site, preferably more. It is easy to keep adding pages if you design one page to use as a template for the others, and add all the links to it that you want to have on every page.

Then all you need do to add a page is to change the article content, page heading, page title and graphics Alt text. The change the keywords, description and title meta tags and you are all set. You can do it in 10 minutes. Imagine: a new web page every 10 minutes!

Now write articles on the topic of each new page on your site and submit them to as many article directories as you can. You will get an initial page rank rush, or at least a rush of clicks to your site, until Google starts to take note of all the duplication of your article on multiple web pages (article directories). It will then begin to penalize these in the Google listings but not, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, not from the directories because Google cannot decide what content article directories hold. Your articles will remain on each directory until it decides to remove it – that could be years hence.

Do the Hard Work and Reap the Benefits

These are the basics of how to use article services and search engine SEO. The hard work is the writing and generating of the websites and web pages. However, if you are like my dad, and get on with the job even though your hands are frozen solid to the breach block of a five inch gun of a destroyer in the Arctic Ocean at 3 am on a cold February morning, then you will succeed. Work will get you there, not paying hundreds of dollars for software that does it all for you – it never does. Get the right guy to point you and you should be OK.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) requires skills, time and knowledge. If you are familiar with SEO, you know that to execute an SEO campaign properly, there are several components you need to take care of. Very quickly, here are two major components you have to tackle.

Internal page elements.

This is the easy part because internal page elements involve tweaking your own web pages to make them search engine friendly. You have complete control over how you want to tweak your pages. If you know what you are doing, a few hours is all that is needed to optimize your pages for the search engines. Here are some tips.

- Include keywords in the web page title.

That means making sure that the keywords are in the HTML title tags. When your web page appears in the search results, the title will appear in bold.

- Include META keywords and descriptions.

Not all search engines display the META descriptions, but it is a good rule to follow. For search engines that include your META tags, the description will appear in the search results.

- Well structured website.

This is to ensure that search engines find all your web pages easily. Include links within your content to internal web pages. Include a site map if possible. Most content management systems come with in-built site maps these days.

- Static URLs.

This is very important. A static URL is always easier to rank compared to a dynamic URL. A dynamic URL usually looks something like this: yourwebpage.html?id=3432

A static URL looks simpler: yourwebpage.html

If possible, include the keywords as part of your URL as well. For example, your-keyword.html

External page elements.

This is where it gets a little tricky because you have little control over external page elements – mostly links. One way back links to your w

ebsite is like a vote for your site. The more “votes” you get, the higher your sites will rank in the search engines. For this reason, many marketers are consistently building back links.

There are many ways to build back links to your sites. Some methods include web directory submissions, article marketing and social bookmarking. However, do note that all these methods require you to invest some time.

For instance, if you want to build links using article marketing, you may have to spend time writing articles and submitting the articles to other websites for distribution. Such activities take time.

I don’t think google adsense ads depend upon number of blog posts. Is google adsense not showing anything or is it showing public service ads?

BTW there are a lot of other advertising websites which work in conjunction with google adsense. They show there ads when google is not showing any. One such site is Adbrite.

I will share some “tips” to positive search engine rankings – in an effort to open some revenue doors for your online projects.

The Title Tag: One of the most important and this is why I chose it as the number one key. This tag defines your web page to both the search engines and users. This tag is what the search egines use as the clickable link on all search engine result pages. One of the main things to remember is to use the keyphrases of your business and make sure that the keyword makes sense to the market you want to target. I would suggest that you remember not to overstuff your title tags with too many keywords because it may hurt you in the long run. Just keep it straight forward and simple.

Keywords in Body Tag: Seems like the optimizing your sites is all about keywords right? The web is about writing so the answer is “Obviously so”. Its important that your keyword is used at least once or twice in the body of your webpage and the reason for this is the following: Genius, how do you expect the search engines to rank you well if your page does not contain a least one keyword related to the title tag? Its like if your title read Pigs Feet and you mention nothing of Pigs Feet on your article then its obvious that the title is misleading to both the user and the search engines therefore you will be penali

zed and pushed back to the supplemental pages or even the sandbox where no one goes. Dont worry about repeating the keyword too often. I always say, write for the readers and not the search engines. If the reader can make sense of it thats what the search engines want to achieve anyway so the job is done.

PS: Once again if you care about good ranking, then make sure that your page actually relates to the keywords used in your body tag, the search engines are much smarter than you think and if you try to “trick” them by adding keywords that dont relate to the content of the article, its only a matter of time before your penalized and sent to the dunces corner of the web.

If you use the correct search engine optimization strategy, and use SEO to your advantage, you can get listed on Google, Yahoo and MSN within two days and have the potential, if you do it right, of achieving a top ten listing within two weeks.

How’s that for a statement! You think its bullshit? Well stop bitching and try it – it is absolutely impossible to fail to get listed in the top search engine indices if you use the correct and logical techniques.

Those who fail to do so simply do not understand how to use SEO and are swayed by the ranting of others who read all the forums but never put into practice what I do.

Here are some tips for you, though I have no intention of giving away all of my secrets in one article. I have nothing to worry about from the so-called SEO gurus who have to use PPC adverts to promote their websites. I stopped using PPC over a year ago. So let’s look at some of the ways to design a proper SEO strategy to get you listed on the top search engines quickly.

Firstly, you have to determine what kind of website you want: an expert site or just a sales site. If you decide on the former, you will rapidly achieve a listing on Google and have a good chance of a high listing for the search term for which your home page is optimized. If you decide on a sales minisite, with between one and three pages, then you will not get a high listing quickly, but you can still get listed in two days, or even less. You can still get listed highly with a 2 – 4 page website, but you will have to build a few back-links for that.

Consider what a listing on the index of any search engine entails. The problem is that search engines do not index framed web sites well. Actually, the search engines do such a poor job of indexing frames that we recommend rebuilding your web site without them. For some search engines, rebuilding your site without frames is the only way to get a good ranking.

If you must use frames on your Web site for some reason, make sure you use the NoFrames tag so that search engines can find some text to index. The NoFrames tag is a tag specifically for search engines that cannot read the actual pages in your frame set.

Some search engines will be able to index the text you enter in the NoFrames tag. The contents you enter there should be text that is related to your site. It should contain your most important keyword phrases, but should remain readable to your Web site visitors.

You should place the NoFrames tag just before the tag in your frameset, for example:

An easy way to do this is to create a new not framed web page for your site that describes your products and services. Often the content can be taken directly from one of your existing framed pages.

Once you’ve created the new page, view the HTML source of the page and copy everything from within the and tags. Then paste the new content within the and tags found within the NoFrames tags of your frameset.

Note that the text between NoFrames tags in our example contains a link to the main frame set page. That way, Web surfers with older browsers that don’t support frames will also be able to visit the page.

Don’t use a list of keywords within the NoFrames tags and don’t try to overuse this tag because the search engines might penalize your web site for that.

Even if you use the NoFrames tag, it’s still difficult to get a good ranking for a web site that uses frames.

If at all possible, avoid frames on your site.
